Tracey has an extensive academic profile. In 2017 she completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts with First-Class Honours, which resulted in her acceptance as a PhD Candidate (Creative Arts) which she undertook with the University of Tasmania.
Key themes that can be seen in Tracey's work are: perception, actual/virtual place, landscape, digital engagement, voice and sanitisation.
Many years of working in and being closely involved with the ICT community have influenced the development of these themes. Her background results in a robust foundation on which Tracey uses for deep exploration of concepts, ideas, media and technology that lead to deep, highly sensitive, layered works.
Media used in her works are varied and they tend to be focused in the photography, installation and painting disciplines. Works follow an iterative design process that results in a unified cohesive work or collection. While she prefers not to limit herself to particular media for projects, Tracey's professional and skill-set development throughout her PhD and beyond will, she hopes, focus more on painting.
